Her Story

Smt. Primalatha Niranjan started learning dance at the age of 5 under the guidance of Smt. Suriyalini Veerasingam. She graduated in the Kalakshetra style under the renowned Guru Smt. Shanthini Sivanesan from whom she also received training for Nattuvangam.

 

Smt. Primalatha Niranjan completed her Arangetram in 2003 under the guidance of Smt. Suriyalini Veerasingam and she was blessed by her Chief Guest Sir Veeramani Iyer. Following this major step in her Bharatanatyam career, she took part in many Natiya Nadagams and competitions. She completed the degree 'RAFA' in Bharathanatyam at University of Jaffna. Moreover, she obtained a 1st Class teaching degree from the Northern Ceylon Oriental Music Society where she also received the title of 'Bharathakala Viththakar'. She has also received the title “Nunkalaimaani' (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Sri Lanka. Recently she completed her Masters in Fine Arts (MA) at Thanjavur University where she received the title "Muthukalaimaani".

She has choreographed many dance dramas such as the Ramayana and Mahabharatam. Very passionate about her students taking part in many charity competitions. She has also trained and produced an extraordinary Arangetrams of seven students within past five years. This enthusiasm and motivation is what allowed her to develop Sivasakthi Ksethra into an established dance school

She established the school of 'Sivasakthi Kshetraa' where she has trained many students and many students who have achieved Diplomas and Post Diplomas. Smt. Primalatha Niranjan has been well honoured by the OFAAL Tamil School where she has been teaching Bharathanatyam for many years. She has also travelled abroad to be an examiner for the OFAAL (Oriental Fine Arts Of Academy London) Examination Board
